CUMBRIA MAG COMMITTEE MEETING

WEDNESDAY 22nd June  2005

Matters Arising: 

 

·        Road Safety Day: Sunday 17th July at Carlisle Race Course. Paul has organized stall and volunteers.

·         Clubs Liason Officer Position:  Phil has had the new instruction pack, but has not made it to any committee meetings.  Does he still want to do the job?  Road Burners are interested in affiliating and meet at The Black Swan (we think), every Tuesday. The first one in the month is the best time to go. New clubs setting up in Barrow also. Paul will pass this information on to Phil.

·         Cumbria Account: After the recent appointment of Caroline Heaney as Cumbria Treasurer, attempts were made to change the signatories on the account, however there was insufficient details on the Cumbria AGM minutes and a more detailed account of the names being removed from the account and new signatories going on was required. 

 

Removal of Clare Travers and Mark Jones as signatories from the “Motorcycle Action Group Cumbria” account:

Report from NC:

Still looking into the safety fences and how suitable they are for motorcyclists.

MAG is in the black and memebership is up.

If you get done for drink driving you have to resign as a officer but can remain a member.  Anyone who brings MAG into distribute will be blackballed. 

There will be a training course for regional and local reps. October date to follow.

Furness: 

Furness has an idea for a place for the AGM – Askham scout hut/youth club/cricket club.

Will let Caroline know when they’ve fixed the venue letters can be sent out to members and we can advertise in streetbiker. Date of AGM was originally set for 18th Sept.

 

Also working on a Christmas Do…….

 

Whiteven: 

Made £700 at Pink Do, but could be trouble with venue for next year.

Doing whitehaven Carnival 2nd July and Barbecue and Treasure Hunt is on Saturday 23rd July.  Also plans to marshall Crab Fair again.

 

Cumbria Webmaster:

All our websites went down and so we started up with a new server.   Brian trying to retrieve our domain name.  Have had 300 hits in last week since we started with new .co.uk  address.  If anyone wants a Cumbria MAG email, there’s loads free.
