COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday 12th March 2003

  1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

 

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted with a small change to the reports page, groups will supply a report to ‘the Committee’ not CT as stated. (sorry)

 

 

  1. ACTIONS/ MATTERS ARISING FROM LAST MEETING

 

Fare Pool Monies have been paid by CT.

 

POLITICAL AND CAMPAIGNS

 

MAG campaign against the ban on black visors. Letters have been sent to groups encouraging them to write to their local MP. Workington have had two replies from Tony Cunningham MP and Jack Cunningham MP.

 

Fear Factor – The results are to be published in April and are seeming to be indicating a very different view to the insurance industry.

 

EVSC – The petitions against EVSC are still being filled out, all groups should be collecting signatures as this is an ongoing Campaign.

 

There was a debate on the ‘Helmet Law ‘ and the feelings of the Committee were against pursuing the issue.

 

Streetbiker – Reports of local Events, Club Runs Etc, for Streetbiker required to promote our area.

REGIONAL REPS /NC REPORT.

 

 

The fare pool monies have been paid to MAG Central

 

GW is to deputies for BH at next NC meeting

 

R1 Tickets are for sale BH has tickets for groups if required.

 

The question over the MNBA cards being promoted on MAG stalls was asked and the result is that after the membership contributions the MNBA are the second largest contributor to MAG funds.

 

Cumbria MAG Products – There was a bag with various Cumbria MAG Products that has gone missing (believed to be with an Ex MAG Member at Kendal) Can we try to locate them as we have paid for them.

Also we have some small Cumbria MAG stickers which will be coming up for sale soon for the Princely sum of £1.00.

 

BH will be visiting Whitehaven (17th March), Workington (26th March) and Furness (15th April) groups.

 

The 2003 MAG AGC

This is being held at Beverley in Yorkshire on the 12th April all members are encouraged to attend the conference, Two members from each group can claim expenses if required, Brian believes it is on a rally weekend? Beer Monsters MCC ‘Hand Pulled Rally’ at Bishops Thornton Near Harrogate

 

Ulverston and District have been contacted in regards to a visit by BH we are waiting for a reply. AC is pursuing the matter.

 

Wooden Spoon 16th May? This is an annual charity event which requires marshals and MAG usually attend, anyone interested Contact BH.

3.      ADVANCE BUSINESS

 

All Local Reps are to discuss dates for local events (i.e. Ride Outs) to ensure no duplication of dates, so if you are planning an event let everyone know ASAP.

 

AS you are all probably aware the MAG at the British Grand Prix is not happening see MAG Central Web Pages for details.

 

4.      A.O.B.

 

Any local Reps unable to make the committee meeting are asked to send a representative if possible.

 

Quorate- The numbers of Cumbria Committee members required to be quorate was discussed, the feeling was that at least four committee members should be present to make any Cumbria MAG decisions.

 

TM has volunteered to be the Deputy Minute Secretary to cover for any Committee meeting that CT is unable to attend.
